And because the gear lever is now positioned behind the steering wheel, there is additional space and storage in the centre console – even for your tablet. Its clever space concept also increases the luggage compartment capacity by up to 40 litres, to 690 litres in total. With the rear seat bench folded down, the total luggage capacity increase to 1,920 litres.
The standard Full Electric Tailgate operation is a further highlight. It allows the boot lid to be opened and closed with a simple foot gesture – no hands needed. The luggage compartment package features a 12V electric socket as standard as well as a net partition, a variable luggage compartment floor and roller cover.
Get in, buckle up – and almost forget to drive off. This is entirely possible in the new Passat and not only because of its optional ergoActive seats with massage function. It also sets new standards thanks to its impressive interior, spaciousness and its focus on innovative technologies and elegant design. Subtle details like visible seams lend the driver-focused cockpit a luxurious touch. Additional and more diverse storage options, such as the enlarged storage box in the centre console, offer flexible space for stowing what’s important.

As the mood takes you, lend the interior of your new Passat a personal touch – in the truest sense of the word. Choose from ten standard colours on Life trim (30 colours are available as an option) and 30 standard colours on Elegance and R-Line, to create a special lighting mood in the interior thanks to visually illuminated decorative elements on the dash panel and door trims as well as the illuminated footwells and mobile phone holder.
